Cocktails: Strawberry Basil Martini

Here's one originally inspired by a concoction we discovered last year off of the drink menu at Mymoon in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Before we'd even finished unpacking from our trip, we were already trying to re-create their Strawberry Basil Martini.
This light, springtime drink combines two perfectly matched flavors: strawberry and basil. Together, the fruit and herb form a perfect peanut-butter-and-jelly like dynamic duo.
Here's the ingredients you'll need to get started:
- 3 fresh strawberries (and one slice of strawberry for garnish)
- 3 fresh basil leaves
- 1 ounce gin
- 1 ounce vodka
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 1/2 fresh lime juice
Combine the strawberries, basil leaves and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker (below) and muddle.
Next, you'll want to squeeze the lime juice in, add ice and pour in the vodka and gin.
Shake the ingredients together and pour into a chilled martini glass garnished with the strawberry.

I'm totally gonna make me one of these!
These are very, very yummy. You can also use all gin or all vodka if you want.
cool!
this sounds fantastic.
So good when it's THIS hot outside! And pretty simple to make.
